About the Musician

Deidre Rodman Struck is an Idaho native, mother, singer/songwriter, and former circus musician. She has performed and recorded with such luminaries as Elvis Costello, Debbie Harry, Natalie Merchant and The Jazz Passengers. Deidre has released three jazz CDs and a new pop EP, Circle. She also sings and plays keyboard with children’s band/all girl band The Itty Biddies/Lascivious Biddies in conjunction with Carnegie Hall’s CarnegieKids/Musical Connections program.

About the Musicians

The Deedle Deedle Dees are an educational rock band based in Brooklyn, NY. Since October 2003, the band has been entertaining family audiences with songs inspired by history and science–”Underground Railroad,” “Nellie Bly,” “Rancher Ants”–as well as simple movement-based tunes like “Play Your Hand” and “Vegetarian T-Rex.” The Dees current line-up features Ulysses S. Dee (aka Lloyd Miller, teacher) on upright bass, rhythm guitar and vocals; Innocent Dee (aka Anand Mukherjee, teacher) on lead guitar and vocals; Booker Dee (aka Chris Johnson, teacher, choir director) on keyboards, banjo, ukulele and accordion; and Otto Von Dee (aka Ely Levin, writer) on drums. Thanks so much to Stacey Szewczyk, a journalist and multimedia producer and the mind behind Hudson River Stories, an excellent new blog “dedicated to the stories that flow from the Hudson River and the New Yorkers who draw sustenance and inspiration from it.” Right up our stream, and we’re glad she found us at Bryant Park last month!
